Working with MedComms Experts, Averitas Pharma’s Medical Affairs team launched a digital HCP Engagement Platform designed to give healthcare professionals easy access to trusted, evidence-based education.

With nine Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) covering the entire United States—and thousands of clinicians across specialties such as endocrinology, neurology, pain management, and podiatry—Averitas recognized the need to expand its educational reach beyond traditional face-to-face interactions.

By centralizing peer-reviewed publications, congress materials, and disease-education resources in one accessible hub, the new platform makes it easier for clinicians to find the information they need, when they need it. It also allows Averitas to tailor content to specialty audiences and track engagement in a consistent, measurable way.

The result is a more efficient, scalable approach to medical education—one that strengthens connections with healthcare professionals and sets the stage for long-term innovation in Medical Affairs.

The Challenge: Diverse Audiences, Evolving Needs

Averitas was in a period of rapid growth—expanding its focus from a single, highly specialized therapeutic area to a broader set of conditions that required engagement across multiple disciplines. This shift significantly widened the company’s educational responsibilities, bringing new HCP audiences into scope—each with distinct information needs, practice patterns, and clinical priorities. 

As the number of publications and scientific resources grew, it became clear that a centralized platform was needed to house medical content, streamline access for HCPs, and maintain scientific consistency across specialties.

Averitas’s experience reflected a challenge shared across the pharmaceutical industry: while MSLs and major medical conferences remain essential for engaging key external experts, these approaches often do not reach the broader community physician audience—the majority of HCPs actively treating patients.

With a focused but agile field team of nine MSLs covering the entire United States, Averitas saw an opportunity to extend the reach of its medical education efforts through digital and evergreen channels that would more actively engage and resonate with HCPs, regardless of geography or practice setting.

To meet this challenge, Averitas partnered with MedComms Experts to design a comprehensive digital HCP Engagement Platform that goes far beyond simply hosting publications.

At its core, the platform centralizes peer-reviewed articles, congress posters, and related resources in a single, accessible home. It also transforms these materials into engaging, easy-to-digest formats—such as concise summaries, visual highlights, and specialty-focused extensions—that make complex clinical data practical and actionable for busy healthcare professionals.

Built as a living ecosystem, the platform tracks how HCPs engage with different resources, revealing which formats resonate most and guiding continuous refinement. By consolidating efforts into this unified and adaptive solution, Averitas ensures consistency, maximizes reach, and lays a scalable foundation for the future of Medical Affairs engagement.

Unlike the company’s branded promotional website, Averitas Medical focuses exclusively on unbranded education and scientific exchange, giving HCPs a single, trusted destination for evidence-based information.

The platform:

  • Centralizes unbranded Medical Affairs resources in one easy-to-navigate location
  • Offers specialty-relevant resources aligned with HCP clinical needs and preferences
  • Enables HCPs to connect directly with MSLs for scientific exchange
  • Equips field medical teams with a centralized, compliant resource library
  • Gathers meaningful engagement insights to continuously improve educational impact

To maximize reach, the launch included a multichannel awareness campaign leveraging Kudos for clinical-trial storytelling, targeted email communications, and planned expansion into additional professional channels such as Sermo—meeting HCPs where they already engage and encouraging repeat visits to the platform.

Working with MedComms Experts, Averitas also transformed complex clinical data into concise, visually engaging resources that complement peer-reviewed publications. These publication extenders, visual summaries, and digital assets help HCPs quickly find, understand, and apply the most relevant information to their practice—amplifying the reach and impact of Averitas’s scientific publications.

Traffic sources reveal a balanced mix of discovery pathways: 57% direct visits reflect growing awareness and repeat usage, while organic search (13%), email communications (11%), and referrals (11%) confirm that the omnichannel approach is successfully driving HCP discovery.

MSLs quickly embraced the platform as a force multiplier for field activities. Using QR codes during presentations, MSLs created interactive engagement opportunities that extend far beyond traditional slide decks. This allows HCPs to explore resources ahead of meetings, focus discussions on deeper scientific exchange, and access trusted content on their own timeline.

The initiative has also been recognized across Averitas and its parent company, Grünenthal, as a model for innovative, unbranded omnichannel engagement—highlighted internally for improving HCP access to credible education and empowering more evidence-based clinical decisions.
